My list.... a work in progress

Hello!

Day 16 already, how time flies. Yes, yes, I know I said the list would be up sooner, but I've been busy..... procrastinating. Takes a lot of time, y'know!

Seriously tho, I've been real busy with work. My roster over the next few weeks had a lot of short flights on it, and I don't like short flights, as they're all a bit rushed. I much prefer the longer 3+ hour sectors, where you get a chance to take your time with the passengers and get to know them a bit. So I've been sending lots of emails to other crew asking to swap onto their longer flights, mostly with success. The 'Sent Items' folder of my work email is just page after page of swap requests!

Anyways, enough excuses... I'm here now, and this is where things get interesting. So far, you've learnt a little about the project and a little about me. But that's like the garlic bread and parmesan cheese in this delicious 2.75-year long meal. NOW, ladies and gents, it's time for the masterpiece. The steaming hot XXL stuffed crust Vegetarian Supreme with fresh dough, sliced juicy tomato and extra sweetcorn part of the meal. That's right, all the way from, well, my brain.... Partly plagiarised from other people.... And in no way near complete.... it's MY LIST!!!!!

I'll give you the entire list so far, and then dissect it afterwards. So.... here goes:

So that's it so far. First thing you'll notice is that, for a list of 101 goals, dreams, tasks and ambitions, it's rather bland after #67! The truth is that the list is a lot harder to come up with than I initially thought. 1001 days is a long time, but it's not THAT long. I've thought about having entries like 'Own my own home' and 'Go into Space', but I do think they're a bit far-fetched at the moment. That's not to say that I won't aim to achieve them at some point during my life... I just don't see them as achievable in the next 3 years. As the project progresses, the list will get fuller and closer to 101. It also isn't set in stone - some entries are almost certain to be taken off as I change my mind throughout the course of the 1001 days.

I haven't organised the list into categories, because I did it before on my first attempt at the project, and I didn't like the way it looked. Hence, you'll find that the more important ones are closer to the top of the list... they're the ones that I thought of first!

A lot of people undertaking their own 101 in 1001 are using it to get the motivation to do things they've been putting off for ages, and I also have a couple of entries that would fall under the same category (18, 40, 50 and 55 are a few). There are also some items that I've never really seriously considered before (7, 33, 54 and 63 come to mind), but which seem to fit in with the spirit of 101 in 1001 quite nicely. All in all, a good mix. As I come up with more entries for the list, I'll add them, but to the bottom of this post.

Over the next few posts, I'll explain some of the entries individually in more detail, and update you on the progress I've made so far.

That's all for now. Feel free to add your comments, opinions and suggestions below. I'll try not to leave it so long until my next post :)
